Dana-Maxx's episode of ALL ON THE LINE with Joe Zee aired on Tuesday, April 26th at 10PM on Sundance Channel. Dana-Maxx threw a fabulous bash to celebrate the premiere of her episode at Stitch in New York. The private party was for press and VIP attendees from 9pm-12am.
Pictures from the event can be found atThe guest of honor that night, Joe Zee, attended the event to show his support for Dana-Maxx. Guests sipped on cocktails and mingled before watching All On The Line on 3 plasma screen TV's at the venue. There was a step and repeat for guests to snap pictures in front of, along with wine being served all night. The designer, Dana-Maxx Pomerantz, made 2 heartfelt speeches before and after the night's activities thanking everyone for attending and for everyone's support.

Mike Ngo PhotographyKyle MacDonnelland Andre Jean-FrancoisThank you to everyone who watched our episode of All On The Line! There are some questions people have had after watching our episode and we want to answer them. So here you go!
Q. “How large is Dana-Maxx really? Seems like you have a huge staff! No wonder your dresses cost almost $600!”
A. Our “large” company exists of 3 people who currently work, or have worked, at Dana-Maxx. The other individuals who appeared on the show either work for the company as interns or dedicated their time to style the models for the Joe Zee presentation. We are very fortunate that people believe in the company so much that they are willing to invest their time and energy without pay to help the company succeed.
Our dresses were retailing from $350-$600 because we cut and manufacture the line domestically. Producing in the USA has a lot of great attributes such as we are able to ship on time, have more hands-on control, and fast turn-around time. But anyone that makes clothing in the USA knows that it is very costly! Luckily, with Joe Zee’s advice, we learned how to edit the designs so that we are able to lower the production costs while maintaining our creative voice. Thanks Joe!
Q. “Why would Dana-Maxx pull out of almost 30 stores? Does she not want the business?”
A. These stores carried very casual clothing, at much lower price points, so our clothing was not moving and there were few re-orders. The line was not appropriate for the stores. Also, when the economy tanked many of these stores wanted to sell the line on consignment, which we would not do. Thankfully we recognized this early on. Since then we have focused on selling to the right stores that induce movement and re-orders. This is the best result for both the line and the stores.
Q. “Why would you push the meeting with Bergdorfs back?”
A. This meeting was pushed back because we needed to return to our original factory in order to complete the collection for the presentation. The recommended factory had clients that they committed to and were not able to meet the Bergdorf deadline date. The presented collection was ultimately completed by our original factory, Couture Concepts. The collection turned out beautifully and at a great price point.
Q. “What else can you tell me about the designer Dana-Maxx?”
A. Dana-Maxx is one of the most compassionate individuals we know. When she is not designing, she is continually giving back to the community and believes in inspiring others. She is an ambassador for GLAMOUR Magazine, is on the committee for DRIF (Diabetes Research Institute Foundation) and is on the Young Leadership Committee for Juvenile Diabetes Research. As certified New York mentor for the Adopt-a-Student Program at the High School of Fashion Industries, a critic at The Fashion Institute of Technology for the AAS Fashion Design Program, as well as being on the faculty for Fashion Camp NYC, she provides guidance to help other young, aspiring fashion designers realize their dreams.
In addition to the abovementioned, Dana-Maxx’s number one goal is and always will be, to pay her parents back as soon as possible. Without them, Dana-Maxx wouldn’t be where she is now and she is incredibly grateful for their love and support!
We hope this answers any questions that viewers may have had. Dana-Maxx is very appreciative of everything, and we look forward to continuing to incorporate Joe Zee's advice into the growth and success of the company!
